Peer Review Process

Manuscripts are submitted through the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform, maintained by the University of Sarajevo, School of Economics and Business, and available at https://journal.efsa.unsa.ba/. The submission process begins with the creation of a user account, after which authors are guided through an automated procedure with detailed instructions. All communication with editors and reviewers is conducted exclusively via the OJS platform, ensuring transparency, secure archiving, and equal treatment. Submissions must be original, unpublished, written in English and prepared in accordance with the journal’s author guidelines.

The Editorial Board is committed to a timely, fair, and constructive double-blind peer-review process, in which the identities of both authors and reviewers are concealed. Editorial decisions are based on evaluations provided by at least two independent reviewers and all referee reports are shared transparently with authors.

Accepted manuscripts are published online on the journal’s website immediately after acceptance, with no delay between acceptance and pre-publication. Each article is assigned full bibliographic information, including DOI and pagination, and is available for citation upon publication. From 2026 onward, the journal publishes three integrated issues per year, in March, July, and November. Operating under a free and open-access policy, the journal actively promotes all published articles and encourages authors to disseminate their work through personal networks, academic platforms and social media.

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content, based on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a broader global exchange of knowledge.

Archiving

All published papers are archived on the journal’s website at http://journal.efsa.unsa.ba/index.php/see/issue/archive. In addition, the journal’s international publisher, Paradigm, archives its content through a digital long-term preservation service for scholarly books, journals, and collections, available at https://reference-global.com/journal/jeb

Plagiarism Policy

The Editorial Board participates in the Similarity Check system to ensure that all published content is original and trustworthy. Similarity Check enables comprehensive screening of submitted manuscripts to detect plagiarism and supports the maintenance of high standards and quality throughout the peer-review process.
